About

The mission

Forecast Miami is the definitive portal for South Florida's weather and climate — built to make the official National Weather Service forecast fast, clean, and highway-clear across the tri-county metro, from Palm Beach down the coast through Fort Lauderdale to Miami and Homestead.

South Florida's weather is tropical and dramatic: the peak of hurricane season with the National Hurricane Center right in Miami, the daily sea-breeze thunderstorms, year-round heat and humidity, and the king-tide flooding that comes with sea-level rise. Forecast Miami is being built to tell that story — county by county, corridor by corridor.

The design language

The look borrows from the American Interstate system — the reflective paper, the green guide signs, the blue service signs, the brown recreation signs, and the red-white-and-blue route shields — set in Overpass. As a metro site its hero is the tri-county grid rather than a state outline, in a flamingo-pink accent on turquoise Biscayne water — its own note in the network.

Companions & the network

Forecast Miami is the metro zoom-in for Forecast Florida. The two are companions — the city and the state — and both are part of the wider Forecast network.
